Founded in 2013, Borough Kitchen caters to the urban chef providing everything needed for at-home entertaining – from the kitchen to the table.

With Magento 1 reaching end-of-life, Borough Kitchen were forced to choose between a costly upgrade to Magento 2 or moving to another platform – they decided on migration to Shopify. We replatformed them to Shopify Plus, giving their store a visual refresh in the process.

The Challenge

Having selected Shopify Plus as their new platform, we were brought in to help navigate the transition – tackling both the migration from Magento as well as a design overhaul. The key challenge was to subtly rework both the UX and visual design to provide an elevated shopping experience that matched the brand's industry-leading physical stores.

The Solution

Alongside a pain-free migration from Magento to Shopify, we reworked several elements of Borough Kitchen's store, including color, typography, and imagery, revisiting the structure of many of the site's core pages. Our work preserved the brand's integrity while creating a new UX set to delight customers.

Following the launch of their new Shopify Plus store, Borough Kitchen experienced an unprecedented 234% increase in conversion rate. As a result of the success, Borough Kitchen partnered with us for the long term to continue optimizing and expanding their site.
