Over the past decade, Db Journey has been focused on redefining travel gear. They have garnered global attention for their award-winning backpacks, carry bags, luggage, and accessories – converging outdoor functionality with timeless urban sophistication.

Experiencing rapid growth in their customer base, Db Journey discovered their platform couldn’t withstand their high levels of traffic – they decided it was time to migrate. In just 4 months, we replatformed Db to Shopify Plus, redesigning their website from the ground up, giving the brand a slick, engaging online store built for rapid global expansion.

The Challenge

Following significant growth in their global customer base, Db Journey decided their existing bespoke platform wasn’t built to grow - they needed to replatform. 

As part of the replatform, Db Journey wanted to optimize the website for mobile, improve conversion rates, introduce B2B selling, and stretch their international offering. But, with their platform contract quickly coming to renewal, they needed an experienced agency with solid international and design capabilities to act quickly - we hit the ground running.

The Solution

To take their store global, we built five new regional stores for Db Journey, all with currencies to match the region using Shopify Markets. As well as setting up 5 regional stores for their B2C offering, we replicated the stores for B2B, allowing multiple and bulk orders.

Db Journey already had a loyal customer group of around 120 users, a perfect opportunity to get their customers involved in the design process of this build. Following user testing, we incorporated Shopify Storefront 2.0’s ‘Sections Everywhere’ to allow greater customization on their landing pages. To increase AOV, we focused on personalization and upselling at the cart, product promotions, and a bundle discounts feature the Db team could use when needed.

The Results

The result is a beautiful, conversion-focused site that pushes the Db Journey brand forward and can scale with the brand’s rapid global growth. And behind the scenes, the Db team is now armed with the features and tools to match their e-commerce ambitions.
